Options for Care

AgeOptions is a not-for-profit organization located in Oak Park, Illinois, that has served the older adults of suburban Cook County and their families as an Area Agency on Aging since 1974. Our primary service area includes the 130 communities that surround metropolitan Chicago.

 

Living Well in Your Home

  • Management of Care Planning care options for older adults who are unable to live at home without additional help.
  • Nutrition Delivering nutritious meals to older adults who are homebound and cannot personally prepare their meals
  • Housekeeping Assisting with daily living tasks, extending people's abilities to remain in their homes
  • Home Repair Providing home maintenance, repair and simple modifications for accessibility
  • Caregiver Services Connecting family caregivers to care options, resources and respite services

Living Well in Your Community

  • Gathering Places Offering social activities, health and nutrition education, and connections to resources through senior centers and community gathering places
  • Community Living Guiding older adults through various living options in the community, based on personal needs, resources and desires
  • Community Dining Serving hot, nutritious meals at dining sites while providing social engagement and education on various nutrition-related topics
  • Transportation Linking older adults with transportation options in their community
  • Adult Day Services Connecting older adults who are unable to stay alone with alternative care arrangements during daytime hours
  • Employment Training and mentoring for lower income adults, aged 55 and older, entering or re-entering the job market
  • Volunteering Offering rewarding opportunities for older adults to transition into retirement and give back to their community
